Heledd and Gethin
Story

We me in August 2001, have been together 16 years now. I proposed to Gethin on Valentines Day 2014. I bought a Thorntons chocolate heart with ‘will you marry me’ written on it.

The Venue

We always wanted to get married at The Falcondale, due to the fact that my brother and sister were married here. The hotel holds lots of good memories. We chose to have a marquee on the front lawn to hold our large number of guests, this worked perfectly.

The Food

We had canapes and plates of sandwiches on arrival for our guests which went down a treat. We decided as we were having our wedding breakfast at 6pm to only have the one main meal and have no food in the evening, this worked out well. There was a choice of soup or crispy duck salad for starters, salmon or beef for main and a chocolate cup or brandy snap for dessert. It was all delicious and very well organised for 160 guests.

The Dress

I bought my dress from Carina Baverstock in Bradford-on-Avon. It was the first dress I tried on and I just knew it was ‘the one’!

The Decorations

We kept the decoration simple and didn’t really have a theme as such. We went for chandeliers in the marquee which changed colour, this created a great atmosphere.

The Flowers

We used a family friend for the flowers. We had beautiful orchids in glass bowls as our centre piece and larger stands of flowers at the entrance.

The Photographer

Our photographer was Susanne Ryder, who was able to capture our day beautifully.
