Myself and now husband Rob, met 7 years ago in 2010 – he was our local postman. Rob proposed whilst we were travelling in Thailand, a ring placed in a heart shape made from palm leaves on a secluded beach.
Michelle and Chris
Story
We have been together for 9 years – Chris proposed to me by giving me a Christmas card two years ago with “To my fiancee” on it.
“Our only advice would be not to settle for make do. If you know what you want from the day, regardless of whether it goes with tradition or not, make sure that’s what you get. You only get married once (hopefully) and this is why i recommend the Falcondale, Caroline is faultless and will make your dreams come true.”
Michelle and Chris
The Venue
We initially chose The Falcondale because we wanted to get married in a bluebell woodland and the photographs online of the bluebells caught our attention.
The Ceremony
After meeting with Caroline and discussing what we had in mind, she was so helpful and made us feel at ease. We wanted initially to get married in a bluebell woodland but when we looked around the outside area at The Falcondale we knew it was the place for us to get married, and as the bluebell woodland area is easily accessible we could have photographs taken there. We wanted a very relaxed wedding and this is what Caroline helped us to achieve.
The Food
For our food we chose afternoon tea which was excellent. It was very well organised and went like clockwork and the food was to a very high standard. For the evening some of our guests chose to stay and eat with us in the restaurant, this again was so organised we didn’t have to worry about a thing!
The Decorations
We wanted to go for a vintage/afternoon tea party style. The Falcondale were able to supply all the vintage crockery and cake stands. The decoration was very simple flowers on the tables and rose garlands in the outside area. We made our own photo booths by decorating picture frames and filling wicker baskets with photo props.
The Dress
The dress was found after months of searching online.
The Photographer
We used a local photographer called Sam Pendlebury from Aberystwyth, she put us at ease from our very first meeting and listened to our ideas and understood exactly what we wanted which was nothing too formal and lots of natural photos, she even bought a second shooter on the day which was perfect!

Heledd and Gethin
We me in August 2001, have been together 16 years now. I proposed to Gethin on Valentines Day 2014. I bought a Thorntons chocolate heart with ‘will you marry me’ written on it.
Hannah and Jamie
Jamie and I met through a mutual friend of ours, after a few drinks, a few laughs, we became inseparable. After going to The Algarve for my sister’s hen do Jamie proposed at home as soon as I’d got back. (Apparently, he just couldn’t wait to ask!)
Chloe and Huw
Huw and I met 8 years ago at our family home as he was friends with my brother. Immediately I knew we would be together! During my pregnancy with our first son he proposed one evening over dinner, I was ecstatic!
