Visit Lampeter

The closest town to our luxury Welsh hotel is Lampeter which is just a mile away, with a fair few attractions. You can visit the Lampeter Museum, Library or the Welsh Quilt Centre for a real dive into the town’s history and culture.

Walk around Cae Hir Gardens in the nearby village of Cribyn or shop in one of the market town’s many unique shops and pick up a souvenir. Several traditional pubs along its main streets make for a cosy rest-stop at the end of one of the walks available from the hotel – so you can treat yourself after that exercise!

Explore Ceredigion’s Rich History

There are 3 National Trust owned locations of historical interest quite close to the Falcondale, perfect for anyone keen to learn the region’s history. Llanerchaeron estate is an elegant Georgian property, featuring a garden and farm populated with Welsh Black cattle, Llanwenog sheep and rare Welsh pigs, popular with children.

Beyond Llanerchaeron is Dinefwr Park and Castle (technically located over in Carmarthenshire but still nearby the Falcondale!), a 12th century castle that played a significant role in Welsh history. But most unique are the Dolau Cothi goldmines, where you can take a guided tour of its Roman and Victorian mining history.

One of the best things to do in Ceredigion if you are interested in history is to visit its many historical landmarks. Cardigan castle has been recently renovated, and features many exhibitions on the history of the area.

Take a Trip to Cardigan Bay

Our Mid-Wales hotel is just 40 minutes away from the coast by bus or 30 minutes by car to reach the closest towns of Aberaeron and New Quay. There you can enjoy beautiful beaches and all that the seaside offers.

You may even get lucky and spot a whale, which is rare but is seen along out stunning coast.
